Beneficial Human-Animal Bonds

Growing up in the Midwest, I had many opportunities to be with farm animals on my grandfather’s farm. While painting this series about the human animal bonds, I have been able to relive many of my wonderful experiences growing up with animals and remember how special they are, and how much we humans need them.

The portrayed animals, many of them horses, are animals that have been rescued or, work in some line of service for people. The people in the paintings are the folks who have taken in these animals or who train them for service. Most of them are my friends, who have allowed me to come to their farms and visit the animals.
